I have been insanely busy these days (all good things), but here's a quick update on what's going on.

I've opened a second Etsy store to put my fine art prints in - still keeping Ottava for my sewn items.

Under the Snow is having it's second Arts Fair this year. It is the 7th year of the music festival showcasing local talent in the Plateau and Mile End neighborhoods of Montreal. It all happens from March 9th to 13th, check out their site for details and how to apply to the art fair and/or as a musician.

After a crazy holiday sale schedule and a quick turnaround trip home - back in Montreal letting the dust settle!

I'm keeping my yoga mat bags on 20% off now through to January 15th - in case anyone needs a little fashionable help keeping their New Years resolutions!

I'm going to be working on a few new things this year, so keep posted. I'm keeping very busy though - so that definitely takes away from my ability to get new things up on my Etsy and up here, but I'll try to stay on top of it!

I anticipate lots of time spent in the print lab. Also, gotta get those prints up on Etsy - still figuring out how best to ship them.

Yoga Mat Bags going up on Etsy

The last few of my yoga mat bags will be going up on Etsy in the next 3 to 4 weeks (every other day or so). I've only got about a dozen left, so interested parties in Montreal let me know. For the rest of you - keep an eye out on my Etsy! I've decided to focus more on printmaking in the future, so some of my time needs to be taken away from sewing. Unfortunately the yoga mat bags are one of the items I've decided to take a break from. We've had a good run (5 years)!

I had a really great time at the art fair this past week that was put on by Montreal art collective Cease. It was held at an art loft in Old Montreal (the dep[art]ment). Met tons of great people. It's really refreshing to be part of a well organized and really well juried event - great job of having really good quality art and a great variety.

I'm very happy to say I will be attending the Cease Holiday Craft Market put on by local non-profit art collective Cease. The sale will be at Suite 101 - 48 Notre Dame Ouest in old Montreal (5 minutes from Place D'Armes metro). Hours are from 12 - 6 Saturday and Sunday. There will be 18 artists selling prints, photographs, jewelry, and more!

I should have a good selection of jewelry, bags, books, and prints so come check it out if you can make it.

I'll be working in the silk screen lab over the next couple of months which I am really excited about. Going to give the sewing machines a little bit of a break and concentrate on printing for now.

Whew, it's been awhile since my last post. Busy times....

I've got some new pieces - bags, pouches, fabric jewelry, and cowls (see photo below).

They are reversible (most feature upcycled vintage fabrics) and most have a print or applique design. To be worn as an accessory to an outfit or as a scarf for bundling up.

Is what I feel like today. It is dark when I go to work and pretty much dark when I go home from work. Not very inspiring to say the least.

I have been crafting some neat display stuff lately, which I guess is kind of boring for the average reader but quite exciting for someone who does a lot of shows. I am trying to use natural materials as my hate on for plastic is ever increasing. Some pics will follow once the 'construction' is done and I use the new displays.

New this season are decorative wall hangings! Made out of quality materials and meticulously stitched and appliqued, these art pieces hang from two bare branches. These will be available at my x-mas shows but are very limited as they are intensely time consuming to construct.

Prices vary from $120-$260 depending on the piece.

New Fall Works!

I have been working on some fall designs inspired by my current home in the Boreal forest.

There are some new bags to be had... As always using quality new and recycled fabrics.

The Tweet! bag:

Made out of a durable black textured material with a vintage red coarsely weaved lining. Features a large sectioned pocket on the front (visible under the flap) as well as a little vinyl bird stitched on the front. Measures approximately 12.5 x 12.5 inches with a 46 inch strap.

The Denim Sparrow:

Made out of a lightweight but lasting denim with a vintage patterned lining. Features a large sectioned pocket on the inside and a hand printed sparrow on the front flap. The print is a block printing method using a design that I carved of a sparrow in flight. Measures approximately 13 x 13 inches with a 47 inch strap.
